The idea behind looking at the book covers is to understand what other photographers have used when creating the books so I can make sure that what I want to do looks similar to other photographers works. This is important to understand when looking at what context I want to place the book in. Books are all scanned to file and they are from the respective photographers mentioned in the book. I am going to annotate a selection of books that have got No Photo on the book and other books that do have photos on so I can compare what type of book I want to create for this assignment. In addition to this, I am going annotate the copyright and the publishing information so I have an understanding of where I might place the information in the book. The importance of understanding different covers When working with the photobook as they all have a purpose when getting people to look and understand what they are all about. The Photobooks are shown I own apart From Bruce Gildon and Rineke Dijkstra’s Books. This allows me to understand what the photo book is doing this allows me to understand what makes the authorship strong.
